Phone number reputation
A platform's internal risk score for a phone number, based on its range, history, and how many accounts it has verified.
Large platforms score the numbers users submit: which range it belongs to, whether it has verified accounts before, how many, how recently, and whether those accounts behaved. A number that has churned through many sign-ups gets treated with suspicion or refused.
This is why fresh numbers matter in verification, and why reputable providers avoid reusing a number for the same service twice.
