How to Verify WhatsApp Without Your Phone Number

WhatsApp ties every account to exactly one phone number, and it verifies that number with an SMS code at setup. That’s a problem in two common situations: you want a second WhatsApp (work and personal, or a business profile) without carrying a second SIM, or you don’t want your personal number attached to yet another account. A rented virtual number solves both. WhatsApp sends its code to the rented number, you read the code in your MarioSMS dashboard, and the account works normally afterwards.

What you need

  • A MarioSMS account with a small balance (sign up with email and password, about 30 seconds)
  • The device or WhatsApp Business app where the new account will live

Step by step

  1. Rent a number for WhatsApp. In the MarioSMS app, choose WhatsApp as the service, then pick a country with stock. Live prices are shown before you pay; only countries actually in stock are offered.
  2. Start WhatsApp setup. In WhatsApp (or WhatsApp Business), enter the rented number: country code first, exactly as shown in your dashboard.
  3. Request the SMS code. WhatsApp sends a 6-digit code to the rented number. It appears in your MarioSMS dashboard the moment it arrives, usually inside a minute.
  4. Enter the code in WhatsApp. That completes the verification. Set your profile name and you’re in.

If no code arrives within the activation window, the activation cancels itself and the full price returns to your balance automatically. You only pay for codes that arrive.

Things worth knowing

  • The number is rented for the verification, not forever. WhatsApp keeps working after the rental ends because WhatsApp sessions live on the device. If you ever log out and need to re-verify, you’d need a new verification, so protect the session with two-step verification (WhatsApp Settings → Account → Two-step verification) and a PIN.
  • Pick a country WhatsApp expects. Any supported country works technically, but choose sensibly: a business serving German customers looks better with a +49 number. See country availability.
  • Voice verification exists too. If you prefer a call-based code, MarioSMS supports voice and flash-call activations for services that offer them.
  • One number, one account. Each activation is a fresh number used by you alone for this verification. The previous holder of the number range can’t access your account, and nobody after you gets your code.
