How to Verify X (Twitter) Without Your Phone Number

X asks for a phone number more aggressively than almost any other platform. New accounts often get locked within minutes of creation with a “verify your phone number to continue” wall, especially when created over VPN, on a device with existing accounts, or followed by any burst of activity. And a single phone number can back only a handful of X accounts before the platform refuses it for new ones.

A rented number clears the wall: X sends its code to the rented number, you read it in your MarioSMS dashboard, and your personal number stays attached only to your personal account.

Step by step

  1. Create the account at x.com or in the app, with email as the primary contact.
  2. When the phone wall appears (at sign-up or on the first lock), rent a number in the MarioSMS app: service X (Twitter), any country with stock.
  3. Enter the rented number in X’s verification screen and request the SMS.
  4. Type the code from your MarioSMS dashboard. The lock lifts and the account works normally.

X-specific notes

  • Expect the wall even after verification. X re-challenges accounts that behave like automation. A verified account with a profile picture, bio, and human posting pattern rarely sees it again; a bare account mass-following will.
  • Developer and bot accounts. X’s API tiers require verified accounts, and running your bot on a dedicated account (with its own number) is both cleaner and required by the automation rules. Label the account as automated in its settings.
  • Remove the number dependency afterwards: confirm the email, enable authenticator-app 2FA (Settings → Security), and generate backup codes. X allows removing the phone number entirely once 2FA is active — do that, and the rented number’s job is fully finished.
  • One number, one account. Every MarioSMS activation is fresh, so brand, bot, and personal accounts stay unlinked.

Allowed and not allowed

Brand accounts, labeled bots, test accounts, and privacy separation are normal uses. Ban evasion, impersonation, and spam networks are prohibited by the acceptable use policy and get accounts suspended by X regardless of the number used.
