AliExpress lets you register with an email, a Google or Apple sign-in, or a phone number, and then asks for a phone code at moments it considers risky, such as a login from a new device or a change to payment details. Buyers who want a separate account for a small business, or who would rather keep their personal number away from a large cross-border marketplace, rent a number for those codes.

AliExpress belongs to Alibaba Group, and its sign-in covers the AliExpress app and website worldwide. Payments can run through Alipay, which has its own verification and identity checks. The number here handles the AliExpress side only. One login works across the app and every country version of the site, and you pick the delivery country on each order.

AliExpress verification code arriving on a rented mobile number

Signing up with a phone or an email

A phone signup makes the number the login. AliExpress sends a code each time you sign in on a new device, and whoever holds the number can request one. An email signup makes the email the login, with a phone code added as a security step when AliExpress sees something unusual.

For a rented number, the email route is the safer one. Register with an email you own, add the rented number only when AliExpress asks for it, and set a password. The account then survives the number leaving the pool. If you already registered with the rented number, add an email while you still hold it, since AliExpress may send a code to the old number to confirm the change.

Welcome deals and the one-account rule

New accounts on AliExpress see welcome deals, low prices on selected items for a first order. AliExpress limits them to new buyers, and it checks the device, the address and the payment card when it decides who is new. Several accounts at one address trying the same deal get cancelled orders.

A separate account for a business, where orders, invoices and a VAT number stay apart from personal shopping, is a common and legitimate reason for a second account. So is testing how a storefront looks to a buyer in Spain or another market.

Delivery texts and the number on the order

The phone number on a shipping address is the one couriers use, and it is separate from the account's verification number. Put a number you can answer on the address, because local couriers text or call it when a parcel reaches customs or the doorstep. Some countries also need a tax number on the address before customs releases a parcel, such as the CPF for deliveries to Brazil.

If AliExpress asks for a new code later, rent another number from the same country. For comparison with other marketplaces, see Shein and Temu.

How to verify AliExpress without your own number

  1. Pick AliExpress and a country

Choose AliExpress in the app, then any country with live stock. Prices are shown before you commit.

  2. Use the number we allocate

Paste the number into the AliExpress sign-up form and request the code.

  3. Read the code in your dashboard

The SMS appears the moment it arrives, usually well under a minute. If nothing lands, the charge reverses automatically.

Should I sign up with the phone or an email?

An email you own. A phone signup makes the number the login, and a rented number returns to the pool after the window.

Can I use a second account for welcome deals?

No. AliExpress limits welcome deals to new buyers and checks device, address and card. Orders it links to a returning buyer get cancelled.

Which number goes on the shipping address?

One you can answer. Couriers use that number for delivery and customs messages, separately from the verification number.

What if the code does not arrive?

The activation cancels at the end of the window and the full price returns to your balance.
