Israel · +972 A real Israel number. Rented for one code.

Israel does most of its messaging on WhatsApp. Shops, tradespeople and landlords expect to reach customers on a +972 mobile, and many Israeli apps confirm accounts by SMS to one. A rented Israeli number covers that first code for a business account, a test, or a second WhatsApp kept apart from your own.

Israeli mobile numbers start with 05 at home and +972 5 from abroad. The largest networks are Partner, Cellcom and Pelephone, with HOT Mobile and Golan Telecom behind them. The numbers rented here are real mobile ranges, which is what Israeli services check.

The 05 prefix and what follows it

An Israeli mobile number is ten digits at home, such as 052-123-4567. From abroad the 0 is dropped, giving +972 52-123-4567, and forms with a +972 picker want the nine digits after the 0. Landlines use area codes like 02 for Jerusalem and 03 for Tel Aviv, and cannot receive codes.

The second digit once identified the network, with 050 for Pelephone, 052 for Cellcom, 054 for Partner, 053 for HOT Mobile and 058 for Golan Telecom. Numbers move freely between networks now. Many numbers beginning 07 are internet-based lines, and services often refuse those.

WhatsApp Business on a local number

An Israeli business that sells online usually runs WhatsApp Business on a +972 number, because that is where customers send questions. Registering it on a rented number keeps the owner's personal WhatsApp separate on the same phone. WhatsApp sends the registration code by SMS, and the account stays on the device afterwards.

Set the two-step verification PIN once the account is running. Anyone who later holds the number would need that PIN to register WhatsApp on it, so the business account stays with you.

Testing a Hebrew sign-up flow

Developers building for Israeli users test sign-up on real Israeli numbers to see the SMS as it arrives, including Hebrew text that runs right to left around the code digits. The dashboard shows the full message a local phone would receive.

Israeli banks and payment apps confirm identity separately, with ID checks a number cannot replace, so use your own line for them. For marketplaces, delivery apps and messaging, a rented number works, and the refund policy covers what happens if no code arrives.
