Danish phone numbers are eight digits, with no area code and no leading zero. From abroad you put +45 in front and type the eight digits unchanged. Danish apps and marketplaces confirm new accounts by SMS to that number, and a rented Danish mobile receives the code without a Danish SIM.
Denmark has used a closed eight-digit numbering plan for decades, and mobile and landline ranges sit side by side in it. The first digit does not reliably tell a service whether a number is mobile, so services look the number up with the carrier instead. The numbers rented here come back from that lookup as Danish mobile.
Eight digits and a carrier lookup
A Danish number is written in pairs, 12 34 56 78, or as 1234 5678. With the country code it becomes +45 12 34 56 78. There is no 0 to drop and nothing to add. Forms with a +45 picker want the eight digits, and single-field forms accept the full +45 version.
Because mobile and fixed numbers share one shape, a Danish landline or internet number can look valid in a form and still never receive a code. The carrier lookup catches that, and it is the check a rented mobile number passes.
MitID and MobilePay are separate
Danish banks, MobilePay and public services such as borger.dk log in with MitID, which replaced NemID and is tied to a CPR number, the Danish personal identity number. A phone number is not the check there, and a rented number cannot be used for it.
Apps that only ask for an SMS code are a different case. Delivery apps such as Wolt, secondhand marketplaces and WhatsApp accounts for Danish customers all confirm by SMS, and a rented number works there for the activation window.
Choosing between Nordic numbers
Scandinavian services often run in Denmark, Sweden and Norway at once but keep country accounts and phone checks apart. A Copenhagen service that asks for +45 usually wants a Danish number even from a user who lives across the bridge in Malmö, where a Swedish number would suit Swedish services instead.
Once the account exists, add a recovery email and turn on any authenticator option the app offers. The rented number returns to the pool when the window ends. Prices per service are on the pricing page.
Is there a 0 to drop after +45?
No. Danish numbers are eight digits with no trunk prefix. Enter +45 and the eight digits.
Can I tell from the number whether it is mobile?
Not reliably, because Danish mobile and fixed ranges look alike. Services check with a carrier lookup, and the numbers here come back as mobile.
Will a rented number work with MitID or MobilePay?
No. Both are tied to a CPR number. Use a rented number for apps and marketplaces that confirm by SMS.
What happens if no SMS arrives?
The activation cancels at the end of the window and the full price returns to your balance.
